Founded in 2004, J.J.P. and friends is a chamber ensemble operating in and around Altdorf near Nuremberg. The musicians’ background is both classical music and jazz. J.J.P. and friends’ regular instrumentation comprises trumpet, cello, xylorimba, piano and percussion. [Ref. Members]

Consequently the ensemble’s repertoire consists of self-composed as well as arranged oeuvres originating from a variety of musical genres. J.J.P. and friends have developed an individual and characteristic approach when adapting different musical art work to their specific set up, interpreting them in an unconventional way. In this, they feel inspired by a quote by Theodor W. Adorno, who says: Art today is supposed to bring chaos into order. [Ref. Music]
